Room Mate Hotels (www.room-matehotels.com) is a Spanish hotel chain that has 2 hotels in the Netherlands (Amsterdam and in Rotterdam), as well as 22 other hotels in major cities in Spain, Italy, Turkey, and soon in London. We believe that staying with a friend is the best way to travel and we want our guests to feel the same. We are growing fast, and will soon have a presence in most major cities.
Room Mate Aitana opened its door in august 2013 and counts 285 spacious, bright and luxurious rooms, meetings rooms, a ballroom, a gym, Lounge, a marina and host a restaurant with Spanish and mediterranean food in a modern jacket.
Aitana will undergo a refreshment in the next 6 months, and we are planning to make our Loungebar a centerpiece of our hotel. We want to ceate a buzzing cocktail bar where our guests can sit back and enjoy the great international vibes.
For this we are looking for a motivated Loungebar supervisor, who will play a big role in the new concepts. You will create the new menu, have your signatures, and recruit, train and motivate a new team of professionals. You will a actively promote the bar together with our commercial team, and create your own community.
You will work in (evening) shifts, together with the bar team, showing you are the inspiring leader they expect you to be.
Your tasks will include:
- Updating our menu, with focus on creativity and quality
- Assisting in promotion for the loungebar, including on our Social Media
- Working bar shifts (evening shifts)
- Ensuring friendly and smooth service in a neat and clean environment according to (HACCP) standards.
- Ensuring the team is trained on product knowledge and service standards at all times.
- Organising additional trainings where needed
- Creating a positive and professional work ambiance
- Analyzes Sales trend and proposes menu updates
- Keeps drinks and cocktail menu updated
- Reaching commercial targets
- Expand the client base by connecting to the city
- Makes sure inventories are matching with sold items, following Parstock to ensure optimal inventory levels
- Makes sure the departmental financial procedures are followed
- Ensuring the POS (Micros) is always up to date
- Assist in selection staff, team development and evaluations
- Set up a calendar of events, specials, promotions, actions
What we would like to see from you:
Sincere friendliness, good sense of humor, enjoying life, positivity, and to share your view of the world. In other words: yourself!
We would like you to have the following profile:
- Previous experience in a similar position is a big plus
- A minimum of 2 years as bartender in a hotel- or cocktail bar
- Language skills: English or Dutch, plus preferably a 3rd language
- The ability to communicate with people from all over the world
- Self supporting
- Taking pride in providing excellent service
- 1-2 years as bartender
